Article: Spiced Apple Tea Sangria

Ingredients

  • 4 Apple, Vanilla & Cinnamon fruit infusion tea bags
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 2 cups of cold water
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 cups white wine (750 ml, such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 1/2 cup of brandy (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • (optional, for garnish) Lemon or lime slices (optional, for garnish)

Preparation

  1. Boil Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan or kettle.
  2. Steep Tea Bags: Remove from heat and add the 4 Apple, Vanilla & Cinnamon herbal tea bags to the boiling water. Let them steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  3. Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still hot, stir in the honey or sugar until it dissolves completely. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste.
  4. Cool the Tea: Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature. You can speed up the process by placing the tea in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Prepare the Fruit: Thinly slice the apple and orange. These will add a lovely fruit flavor to your sangria.
  6. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea, 2 cups of cold water, the sliced apple and orange, cinnamon sticks, white wine, and brandy if using.
  7. Chill: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. For best results, let it chill overnight.
